Welcome to Atlanta Storytellers!
Episode 13: Indie Unnold!
In this episode, we sit down with Indie Unnold, a storyteller who has been crafting elaborate worlds in their head since elementary school, and hasn’t stopped since. From daydreams that spanned generations to third-grade mystery thrillers that held a classroom captive, Indie discovered early on that storytelling lives in every medium: prose, theater, performance, and even in that messy, unformatted Google Doc that only they fully understand.
For Indie, preparing a story is as much an inward journey as a performative one, and real excavation is required before anything can be shared on stage. Their time with the KSU Tellers under Dr. Charles Parrott sharpened that process, deepening both their craft and their self-awareness.
Watch this episode to hear how Indie’s journey reveals the relationship between people-pleasing and vulnerability, the surprising way specificity creates universality, and why writing it down, as Nana once told them, might be the most important first step any storyteller can take.
👉🏼 And don’t miss Indie’s story from our show, “The Songs That Shape Us,” told live on stage at Eddie’s Attic on April 28th, 2026.
